The simplest operation of side-to-side movement allows for a wide variety of applications and is typically a more budget-friendly option. Very few parts are involved, most definitely including a sash lock and sometimes rollers.
Sash Lock
Found on the center meeting rail and will engage two sashes to prevent operation holding them in a fixed position found on all windows of this style.
Wheels -Roller Assembly
Not always used but would be found under the sliding operable sash depending on the size, style and weight.
